The Pilates Mat-Work Instructor course will position you as a standout professional in the sports rehabilitation industry. If you’re planning a career as a fitness instructor, this course offers a professional teaching qualification, enabling you to excel in guiding Pilates exercises across various training settings or schools.  Upon completion of the Mat-Work Certificate Course, you will:  

– Master mat-based teaching skills.  

– Demonstrate exemplary performance abilities.  

– Effectively observe, correct, and execute Pilates exercises in both private and group sessions to meet health improvement goals.  

The Mat-Work Certificate Course is divided into two phases:  

1️⃣ Core Connection Preparation Phase

💢Fundamental Core Content (2 hours):  

1.1  Physics of Pilates Movement  

1.2.  Principles and History of Basic Pilates Training  

1.3.  Professional Terminology and Key Concepts: Imprinting, Scooping, Elongating, Hollowing, etc.

1.4.  Activating the Pilates Powerhouse: Methods from 4 to 12 Points  

I..5.  nteraction Between Pilates Equipment, Mat Work, and Core Muscles 

1.6.  SIM (Stabilizers, Initiators, Movers) Techniques for Core Strength Training  

Upon completing Phase 1, students will:  

✅ Understand how to apply the 8 Pilates Principles for therapeutic and rehabilitative effects.  

✅ Recognize how Pilates Mat-Work helps seamlessly connect core strength with joints, creating synergistic energy for healing.  

✅ Experience the unique core-training benefits of mat work.  

2️⃣ Pilates Mat-Work & Body Integration Phase

💢Mat-Work Instructor Content (10hours):  

2.1Teaching mat-based exercises to prevent posture-related pain.  

2.2Applying core-flow principles in mat work.  

2.3. Mastering equipment and safe training methods.  

2.4. Group instruction techniques.  

2.5. Using imagery cues for each mat exercise.  

After completing Phase 2, students will:  

✅ Gain comprehensive knowledge of Pilates.  

✅ Confidently lead mat-based group core workouts.  

✅ Unlock the therapeutic secrets of Pilates as a skilled instructor.  

✅ Use Pilates to address injuries, activate core power, correct muscle imbalances, and alleviate back pain.  

✅ Achieve full body-mat integration.  

Course Structure:  

– 12 total hours (2h theory + 10h practical mat-work training).  

🖊 Exam Structure:

 – Teaching demonstration evaluation  

– Theory (20 True/False + 30 MCQs, 70% pass)  

– Practical: Demonstration of 10 Golden Movements  

👄 Language:

– Cantonese (with English professional terms).  

💯 Passing Criteria:

– 70% attendance  

🗂 Target Participants:

– Current non-Pilates instructors or beginners aspiring to become Pilates instructors.  

Exemptions:  

– Holders of Pilates teaching method or Master Training certificate may apply for partial course-hour exemptions.  

🚑 Extra support:

– Supplemental classes for physical training/exam preparation available.  

☀️ Certification:

– Issued by Australian Training for Fitness Professionals (ATFP)

– Unlimited examination retakes within 12 months; attendance certificate available if incomplete.
