The Reformer certificate course is divided into two stages:  

1. Core Connection Preparation Stage

💢 Core Foundation (2 hours)

1.1.  Physics of Pilates movement  

1.2.  Basic principles and history of Pilates training  

1.3  Professional terminology (e.g., Imprinting, Scooping, Elongating, Hollowing)  

1.4.  Activating the Pilates Powerhouse: From 4-point to 12-point methods  

1.5.  Key interactions between Pilates equipment and core muscles  

1.6.  SIM Technique – Stabilizers, Initiators, Movers for core strength training

✅ Apply the 8 Pilates Principles for therapeutic and rehabilitative effects.  

✅ Understand how the Pilates Reformer helps clients connect core strength with joints for synergistic energy therapy.  

✅ Experience a unique sense of core fluidity.  

2 Pilates Reformer Connection Stage

💢 Reformer Instructor Training (12hours)

2.1  Types, functions, and features of Pilates equipment  

2.2.  Restoring muscle balance (internal/external) with Pilates equipment  

2.3.  Application of Pilates in sports rehabilitation  

2.4  Clinical teaching techniques for Pilates  

2.5.  Case studies from Medical Professional  

2.6.  Common teaching mistakes and corrections  

👍 Upon completion, students will:

✅ Correctly teach Pilates reformer.

✅ Design Reformer-based exercises

✅ Understand to different physical injuries.  

Course Structure:  

– 15 total hours (2hrs theory + 13hrs reformer practice/exam prep).  Exemptions:  

– Holders of Pilates teaching method or Master Training certificate may apply for partial course-hour exemptions.

🖊 Exam Structure:

 – Teaching demonstration evaluation  

– Theory (20 True/False + 30 MCQs, 70% pass)  

– Practical: Demonstration of 10 Golden Movements  

👄 Language:

– Cantonese (with English professional terms).  

💯 Passing Criteria:

– 70% attendance

– Current non-Pilates instructors or beginners aspiring to become Pilates instructors. 

Exemptions:  

– Holders of Pilates teaching method or Master Training certificate may apply for partial course-hour exemptions.  

🚑 Extra support:

– Issued by Australian Training for Fitness Professionals (ATFP)

– Unlimited examination retakes within 12 months; attendance certificate available if incomplete.
